Hemirhamphodon Phaiosoma (PO)
Description
Bring life to the waterline with Hemirhamphodon Phaiosoma, a surface-dwelling fish that explores and feeds near the top of the aquarium. Its upper-level activity adds movement at eye level and offers a striking contrast to fish that spend more time elsewhere in the tank.
In a planted aquarium, tall stems and floating cover create pathways and shade near the surface. Leave plenty of swimming room and keep an open area at the top for movement.
- Surface activity: Watch it explore and feed near the waterline.
- Planted surroundings: Tall plants and floating cover provide upper-level pathways and shade.
- Company of its kind: This gregarious fish appreciates being kept with others of its kind.
- Male displays: Males may compete over territory, and cramped conditions can lead to injuries, so provide ample space.
- Community aquarium: Its peaceful nature makes it suited to a mixed aquarium.
- Steady care: Regular maintenance, stable water conditions and a spacious environment support its well-being.
Its surface-level habits bring a fresh focal point to a planted display, especially during feeding and exploration.
